This Privacy Policy explains what information Meat Now (operated by Fintech Data Solutions) collects, how we use it, and your choices. It applies to the Meat Now service.
Information we collect
- Account information: your company name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
- Customer Data you upload: distributor names and the price sheets you upload (product names, prices, units, dates).
- Usage data: logins, feature usage, and AI-credit metering, used to operate and secure the Service.
- Payment data: handled by Square. We store only non-sensitive subscription identifiers and status — never full card numbers.
How we use information
- To provide the Service: extract products/prices, match products across distributors, and show your best prices.
- To authenticate you, secure accounts, send transactional email (verification, password reset, welcome, receipts), and provide support.
- To bill your subscription via Square.
- To produce aggregated, anonymized statistics (see below).
AI processing (Anthropic)
To recognize and normalize product names so the same cut lines up across suppliers, the Service sends product descriptions from your uploads to Anthropic, our AI provider, for classification. Only the text needed for classification is sent. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf as a subprocessor under contractual terms and does not use it to train its models for this use. We cache classification results to minimize repeat processing. You review and approve AI-suggested matches before they affect your comparisons.
Document processing
Uploaded files are parsed to extract the product/price grid. Files and extracted data are stored in your tenant and isolated from other customers by database row-level security.
Aggregate & anonymized data
We may derive and use aggregated, de-identified statistics (e.g., regional price benchmarks) that cannot reasonably be linked to you, your business, or your individual prices. We do not sell or disclose your individual Customer Data. Aggregate insights are not attributable to any single customer.
Who we share with
- Square — payment processing.
- Anthropic — AI product classification (as above).
- Hosting/infrastructure — to run the Service.
- Plaid — only if you choose to connect a bank for the optional, read-only finance view (not required to use Meat Now).
We do not sell personal information.
Data retention
We retain Customer Data while your account is active and for a limited period afterward to allow reactivation and to meet legal obligations. You may request export or deletion at any time (see the DPA). Append-only audit and billing logs are retained as needed for security and accounting.
Security
We use tenant isolation (row-level security), encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, rate limiting, security headers, and append-only audit trails. See our Security page.
Your rights & ownership
You own your Customer Data. Depending on your location you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data. To exercise these, contact us.
Cookies & tracking
We use a strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in, and a first-party visitor-id cookie to measure site usage and avoid double-counting. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, and we do not sell information collected through cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser; blocking the session cookie will prevent sign-in.
Your U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on your state of residence — including California, and states such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others with comprehensive privacy laws — you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccuracies; delete it; obtain a portable copy; and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, targeted advertising, or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not sell or share your personal information, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not engage in such profiling. We do not use sensitive personal information for these purposes. You will not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
How to exercise your rights: email [email protected] or contact us. We verify requests (typically through your account email) and respond within the time the law requires. You may use an authorized agent where permitted. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
California (CCPA/CPRA): in the prior 12 months we collected the categories listed under "Information we collect," used them for the purposes under "How we use information," and disclosed them only to the service providers listed under "Who we share with." We have not sold or shared personal information and do not offer financial incentives for it.
Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children.
Changes
We may update this Policy; material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.
